Björn Wandels (°1979, lives and works in Ghent) expresses himself in various media. His hybrid work ironizes the premises of media (analog/digital) by placing them outside their traditional field or use.
He paints photos from the chemical darkroom, photographs drawings, films sound, makes short videos and collage loops, and transforms these into installations; he draws poetry and letters.
His work is not intended to be scientific research, but is a translation based on the logic and boundaries of artistic materiality.
Ambiguous work, in the sense of the presence of at least two possible directions of interpretation: tragic and absurd.
