At the end of August, LARA Art Fest descends on Laarne: a ten-day festival of art and culture that takes the whole village as its playground. Exhibitions run in Laarne Castle, St Macharius Church, the town hall and the gardens of White Duck Fine Arts, with work by Wim Delvoye, Niki de Saint-Phalle, Guillaume Bijl and Kris Martin, among others. Local shops open their premises to art as well.
DeNode Foundation is a partner of the festival and chose the Suys pharmacy (Dorpsstraat 29) to put Kat Bové's work in the spotlight. Her self-portraits, balancing between aloofness and vulnerability, find an unexpected yet strangely fitting setting among the ointments and pills — anyone who knows her work will sense how naturally a pharmacy belongs to her universe.

LARA Art Fest runs from 28 August through 6 September 2026, followed by several weekend openings in September. The full programme is at artscenelaarne.be.
