Liesbeth Van Heuverswijn makes drawings using only graphite pencil and eraser. During the process, she explores the possibilities of these simple materials. The drawings are usually built up intuitively, starting from a play with graphite in which control and chance alternate. For Liesbeth, drawing is about organizing the graphite on the paper, without a prior plan.
The works do not carry big themes, but can often be read as simple images we are all familiar with (flowers, clouds, houses, raindrops, …).
