Hilde Van Canneyt is an art mediator and writer. She explores artistic practices through writing, conversations and mediation, creating meaningful connections between artists, artworks and audiences — and brings her perspective as an independent curator.
For more than fifteen years she has been interviewing visual artists from Belgium and the Netherlands: a corpus of hundreds of conversations, collected in 4321 Vragen aan 123 Kunstenaars and continuously published on hildevancanneyt.be.
For DeNode she curated the group exhibition (expo)nentieel (2024–2025, 49 artists) as well as Lee Ranaldo's solo exhibition (again) across the river (2025), and is a steady voice in the programme. Her interviews with the DeNode artists are commissioned by DeNode. Writing about art is itself an artistic practice: the conversation as medium.
