
“In my paintings and drawings, there is always a pursuit of interplay between softer elements and harsher forms placed in contrast. Fernand Léger is a big inspiration for me. He always represents the female figure in her largest, cubist forms, yet softens it by adding a flower or polka dots.
I also try to use these contrasts to evoke sensitivity, often approached with a humorous and surreal twist, sometimes reflecting my own personal experiences, and at other times creating a story that’s strange in and of itself.”
