Dear art lover,
We warmly invite you on Saturday 25 January 2025 to the opening of the exhibition "Bij De Meesters", with work by Gipi and Bezverkhni van Gent.
Both artists were born in 1947 – in Ghent and Leningrad respectively – and grew up in the turbulent post-war period in which the Western world had to steadily reinvent itself.
We see this too in our guests Gipi and Bezverkhni, who developed artistically in completely different directions: the one cerebral and calculated, the other emotional and spontaneous.
This exhibition offers a unique insight into their artistic range, expressed in delicate drawings and explosive paintings.
These men have stories to tell – hear them yourself at the opening on 25 January!
During the exhibition the draughtsman Gipi will also give a few guided tours. Anyone interested can register via our website (places are limited).
Opening programme: doors open at 3 PM; violin concert at 5 PM, by Mikhail Bezverkhni (winner of the Queen Elisabeth Competition 1976) and protégé Luciano Petìk.
Exhibition: from Sat 25/01 to Sun 23/02/2025. Open on Fri & Sat from 2 PM to 6 PM, Sun from 11 AM to 5 PM, or by appointment.
