A duo exhibition by draughtsman Gipi (Pierre Gillis) and painter-violinist Mikhail Bezverkhny — both born in 1947, in Ghent and Leningrad respectively. Fine, narrative drawings set against explosive paintings: a glimpse into the artistic divide between two contemporaries who developed in entirely different directions.
At the opening, Bezverkhny — winner of the 1976 Queen Elisabeth Competition — performed a violin concert with his protégé Luciano Petìk; Gipi gave guided tours during the run of the show.
