
Mikhail Bezverkhny, violinist and respected artist, was born in Leningrad (the former USSR). In 1976, he won the first prize in the Queen Elisabeth Competition for violin. After the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, he settled permanently in Belgium. Mikhail Bezverkhny earned recognition as a conductor and composer.
He composed the film music for Gambrinus, for which he won first prize at the 1992 international film festival in Valencia, Spain. He was a principal violin and viola lecturer at the Ghent Conservatory (Hogeschool Gent). As a painter, Mikhail Bezverkhny received an art education from Vladimir Rajkov, a student of Robert Falk, from 1976 to 1990. He exhibits regularly at home and abroad.
