“My work explores the relationships between drawing, sculpture/installation, and literature. By repeatedly reusing elements, subtly shifting and recombining them, the drawn image becomes a step-by-step reading. Repetition, minimal variations, subtle derailments, and the erasing of material ensure that meanings do not simply walk in through the door, but show themselves discreetly.
This approach develops most fully in artist’s publications (drawing and text) and installations, often in collaboration with others. From the desire to make publications, Judith Herman and I founded the publishing house Retour. In every exhibition we create, we seek a new, challenging relationship between the respective book and the exhibition that frames it.”
