“In my painting practice, drawings are usually not an endpoint, but a means of documenting ideas. Yet I find that the sketches that lie around, sometimes forgotten in the studio, hold important value. The fleeting drawing is sincere; it does not pretend to be something else. It is made in the margins of my practice, where—looking back—some of the most interesting notes appear.”
